New Project: Shandong Ronghui Group High-End Protein Science and Technology Industrial Park Settles at Jizhou Port.

Total investment: 1.059 billion yuan.

In China’s grain and oil industry map, soybeans have long played an awkward role. China imports more than 100 million tons of soybeans every year. Yet most of these soybeans fall into the rough cycle of “crush for oil and sell soybean meal”. The industrial chain is trapped in low-end homogenized fierce competition.

Now, this old logic is being completely rewritten by a 1.059-billion-yuan investment in Jining, Shandong province.

Recently, the High-End Protein Science and Technology Industrial Park of Shandong Ronghui Group officially settled at Jizhou Port.

This is not simple copying of traditional oil-pressing production capacity. Instead, it marks a value leap from “selling oil and meal by ton” to “selling functional peptides by gram”.

Relying on the advantages of the port-hub location, the project will build the world’s largest alcohol-method zero-emission intelligent production line. It will set a forward-looking model for the high-quality upgrading of China’s grain and oil industry with new modes of smart manufacturing, green development and full-chain value-adding.

Say Goodbye to “Warm-Water Soybean Soaking”: Process Revolution Removes Low-End Labels

Over the past thirty years, China’s soybean processing industry has fallen into a strange situation. Production capacity expanded blindly, products were highly similar, and enterprises operated with thin profits. Primary solvent extraction oil-pressing plus high-temperature meal was almost all of the business. Resource utilization rate was low, and product added value was small. The industry has never been so eager for high-end effective supply.

Different from past projects, this new project by Ronghui Group avoids low-end repeated construction from its very beginning.

The project will build not old-style traditional production lines, but a green smart-manufacturing  system combining low-temperature alcohol extraction, bio-fermentation, intelligent control and full by-product utilization.

Its core highlight is the world’s largest-capacity intelligent production line for alcohol-process soybean concentrated protein with zero emissions.

It completely abandons rough high-temperature and high-pressure treatment. Instead, it adopts full-process digital and automatic flexible smart manufacturing.

This means the future production line can not only make standard products, but also carry out flexible customization of products with specific functions according to different customer needs, just like precise CNC machine tools.

This change fundamentally solves long-standing industry problems: fixed traditional processes, single product types and low resource utilization.

What is truly impressive is that project is being built by Chemsta, a well-known subsidiary of Ronghui Group.

Public information shows that complete sets of plant-oil production and refining equipment researched and developed by Chemsta have reached world-leading standards. Its capacity to produce high-quality equipment ranks top 3 nationwide. Its technical equipment for making concentrated protein by alcohol method holds the No.1 domestic market share in the industry.

Make Full Use of Every Soybean: Occupy Four High-Value Golden Tracks

While traditional crushing plants only care about “oil yield”, Ronghui has turned its attention to deep development of protein and functional factors inside soybeans.

With forward-looking technical layout and core process barriers, the project accurately enters four high-value golden tracks: high-end protein, functional healthy oil, bio-fermented protein and non-GMO deep soybean processing.

In the future, 14 kinds of high-end products will be mass-produced here. Three core product series are high-purity concentrated protein, small-molecule fermented peptide protein and gradient high-protein soybean meal.

With both low antigenicity and high digestibility, high-purity concentrated protein can partly replace regular protein sources in feed for breeding. It provides a feasible way to reduce dosage and raise efficiency for high-end feed formulas. Thanks to good absorption performance and biological activity, small-molecule fermented peptide protein has broad prospects in sports-nutrition supplements and special medical use food. Gradient high-protein soybean meal breaks technical bottlenecks of big quality fluctuation and unstable indexes in traditional soybean meal products. It can exactly meet strict requirements for fine and differentiated protein raw materials from pet food and special breeding.

These three together from the core product pillar for the project to upgrade from bulk raw materials to high value-added functional components. Every soybean changes from incoming raw material to precise functional component after processing. This is not only a change in product form, but also an identity shift for enterprises: getting free from restraints of bulk commodity cycles and stepping into the technology manufacturing track.

2.28-Km Golden Distance: Port-Industry Integration Builds Competitive Moat

High-end fine manufacturing needs an efficient supply-chain ecosystem. Ronghui choosing JIzhou Port for the project is an accurate strategic move based on industry trends and location advantages.

The project site is only 2.28km away from the port area. Drawing on the group’s own port-shipping and logistics strengths, a stable “golden corridor” for global raw-material purchasing distribution is built here.

Jizhou Port’s mature multi-model transport system lets imported soybeans reach workshops with the lowest logistics cost. At the same time, finished high-end protein products can quickly cover the whole country.

This industrial closed loop of “port gathering raw materials, park doing smart fine manufacturing, products covering all regions” effectively cuts bulk goods logistics costs. It also gives enterprises stronger buffering power when raw material prices swing.

Plus the solid foundation of breeding and food-processing industries in south-western Shandong, the project has natural test grounds and market outlets for technical iteration and market application.

From Trade Giant to Smart-Manufacturing Carrier: Activate the Enterprise’s Second Growth Pole

For Shandong Ronghui Group, this project is far more than a simple financial investment. It is a strategic transformation changing the enterprise’s core genes.

In the past, Ronghui had rich experience in bulk commodity trade and port-shipping logistics. Now, by actively extending downstream to high-value-added physical manufacturing, the group fills the key gap in high-end grain and oil deep processing.

A full-industrial-chain layout of “trade+logistics+smart manufacturing+recycling utilization” is taking shape.

It completely breaks the cycle risk that a pure trade business suffers from swings in international market conditions. It also fosters a new core industrial growth pole with strong risk resistance and high growth potential.

According to overall project plan, phase one will use imported soybeans as processing raw materials. It will reach an annual soybean processing capacity of 1.05 million tons, mainly producing high-end feed raw materials to make up for domestic supply shortages of high-end plant-protein feed raw materials.

Phase two will build a research-and-development center and expand soybean protein concentrated (SPC) production line.

Long-term phase three will take non-GMO soybeans as raw materials. Following development trends of high-end food and health food industries, it will further develop extraction of active substances such as soybean isoflavone and deep processing of textured protein and spun protein. It will keep expanding its high-end soybean deep processing business and enrich its high-end industrial portfolio.

It is worth noting that the whole industrial park will adopt near-zero-emission clean production modes and realize full resource recycling of by-products, this fits dual carbon goals and provides a practical model for circular agriculture.

Reverse Breakthrough Against Bottleneck Technologies: Build a New Model for Grain-and-Oil Security

Against the background of turbulent global grain supply chains, the biggest pain point of China’s soybean industry is not insufficient total supply, but insufficient high-end processing capacity. Low-end products are in surplus while high-end products rely heavily on foreign suppliers.

The large-scale investment by Shandong Ronghui carries far-reaching meaning. It is not just building another processing factory. Instead, it builds a technology benchmark with international influence in China’s soybean protein deep processing sector.

While many domestic enterprises compete on price in the low-end soybean meal market, Ronghui chooses to build industry influence in high-end protein and feed soybean meal reduction replacement tracks through green smart manufacturing.

It precisely implements national strategies for improving and upgrading the soybean industry. It also strongly supports imports substitution and secure grain and oil supply.

From simple one-time crushing to deep component extraction, the high-end upgrading battle for soybeans has started beside Jizhou port.

It reflects the unavoidable trend of China’s grain and oil industry shifting from scale expansion to quality and benefit oriented development.

Abandoning old rough development paths, Shandong Ronghui Group takes smart manufacturing as its spear and green production as its shield. It injects powerful new quality driving force for China’s grain and oil industry to break homogenized competition and move toward high positions in global value chains.
